Velkommen

We get a lot of questions and we are pleased with the huge interest in the project. Below we have tried to answer some common questions. However many things have not yet been decided and it will therefore not be possible to answer all questions at this time.

Here under you find an extract of questions and answers:

  • Location?
  • When?
  • In/out door?
  • Size?
  • Is it possible to use an ordinary skydiving suit?
  • Is it possible to do a 4-way RW?
  • Is it possible to freefly?
  • Is it possible to fly in the simulator if you weigh more than 120kg?
  • Is it safe for children?
  • Is it difficult?
  • Do you have to be a member?
  • Who are behind the project?
  • Would it be possible for Danish and foreign special forces to practise in the tunnel?
  • What will the price be?

  • Location?

We are currently looking for a location which will be easily accessible for Northern Europe and all the Nordic countries. The building site is not yet bought but we expect it to be in the area close to Copenhagen.

    When?

We expect the doors to open in 2010 but numerous things may change the date.

Will the tunnel be in or out door?

Due to the Danish weather we will have to have an indoor wind tunnel.

How big will the tunnel be?

We are striving for at least a 16 feet tunnel.

Is it possible to use an ordinary skydiving suit?

Yes, our tunnel is going to be one of the most powerful in the world so that should be no problem.

Is it possible to do a 4-way RW?

The tunnel will be perfect for training 4-way RW.

    Is it possible to freefly?

It is our goal to get the best freeflyers in the world as our instructors. So most definitely!

Is it possible to fly in the simulator if you weigh more than 120kg?

Of course! That will be no problem at all.

    Is it safe for children?

Everybody is welcome as long as they are sound and healthy. DFSP’s youngest individuals to try a wind tunnel are Victoria & Laurits who are only 6 and 10 years of age. Children as young as 4 years could also have a great experience.

    Is it difficult?

It is comparable with skiing. In the beginning you will get instruction from the approved instructors but you will quite fast get a feeling for flying on you own.

Do you have to be a member?

It is not necessary to be a member of one of the clubs but a membership will result in price reduction when buying tunnel time, lessons, equipment and events.

    Who are behind the project?

The project group is daily run by Project Manager, Peter C. Bruun.

The project will from time to time say goodbye to different project members, who will contribute with specific areas in shorter or longer periods.

Up until the first milestone the project has beside Peter C. Bruun, consisted of John and Jesper Madsen who has contributed with the start up of the project along with collection of various data in Denmark and abroad. In addition to the project group we have had a person associated with responsibility for the market survey. With regard to the construction, air-flow, and operation we have consulted some of the best advisors in the world.

Would it be possible for Danish and foreign special forces to practise in the tunnel?

We have a good dialog with the Danish army and we expect to be able to live up to the demands they might have.

    What will the price be?

The price has not yet been decided but it will probably be about 10-15% above the prices in Bedford. This is due to the high energy price level in Denmark. But there will be a reduction in price if you are a member.
